Upstaged

-- A Spectacle of Note -- The Joy of Storytelling Usurped --

On the drive home from a week­end in Pringle, we were treated with the bril­liant spec­tacle of a mother whale and her calf jump­ing and frol­ick­ing in the waters of False Bay. All this was much to the enjoy­ment of ourselves and a couple of hun­dred other folk that had got­ten out of their cars and clustered along the edge of Clarence Drive to watch two of the largest mam­mals on the planet lark­ing about and gen­er­ally hav­ing a bit of a laugh.

Afterwards, look­ing for­ward to the pro­spect of telling the tale of our encounter with nature and all her stun­ning majesty, we were told that our story had been upstaged:
