British Safety Council

The British Safety Council is one of the world’s foreÂmost health and safety organÂisaÂtions, speÂcialÂising in eduÂcaÂtion and trainÂing H&S on both a charÂitÂable and comÂmerÂcial basis. They are one of the first organÂisaÂtions in their industry to embrace the online comÂmunity and sell a wide range of trainÂing courses and learnÂing materÂiÂals via their webÂsite with a comÂpreÂhensÂive online shop and canÂdidÂate learnÂing area.
During my time workÂing for the British Safety Council, the webÂsite has grown in size and scope from what was iniÂtially an online reposÂitÂory of broÂchures and conÂtact details to into a sophÂistÂicÂated and stylÂish lookÂing site that reflects the look and ethos of the organÂisaÂtion entirely. I was the designer in a larÂger team of developers who’s role from the very beginÂning was to unify the many difÂferÂent roles of the organÂisaÂtion into one comÂplete brand, as well as ensurÂing the site was clean and modÂern lookÂing to reflect its increasÂingly vital role.
With a comÂbinÂaÂtion of hand-coded CSS, XHTML and javasÂcript with a large amount of dataÂbase driven conÂtent, this was a chalÂlenÂging and highly satÂisÂfyÂing proÂject to work on!
