British Safety Council

British Safety Council

The British Safety Council is one of the world’s foremost health and safety organisations, specialising in education and training H&S on both a charitable and commercial basis. They are one of the first organisations in their industry to embrace the online community and sell a wide range of training courses and learning materials via their website with a comprehensive online shop and candidate learning area.

During my time working for the British Safety Council, the website has grown in size and scope from what was initially an online repository of brochures and contact details to into a sophisticated and stylish looking site that reflects the look and ethos of the organisation entirely. I was the designer in a larger team of developers who’s role from the very beginning was to unify the many different roles of the organisation into one complete brand, as well as ensuring the site was clean and modern looking to reflect its increasingly vital role.

With a combination of hand-coded CSS, XHTML and javascript with a large amount of database driven content, this was a challenging and highly satisfying project to work on!
